In response (and defiance) of the high dues of some Professional Associations for chefs, I have started the Independent Chefs Federation--A FREE Assoc. and Resourse for chefs. Check out www.geocities.com/chefsfederation(OH GOD--another website)
Have taken on the job (Unpaid, of course) of secretary for the Abington Service Unit of Girl Scouts in our area-- God help us all!
The Brownie Troop will be featured again in Council's magazine==this time because of our website.--COOL!
I cooked the "Breakfast with Santa" (12/7/02) for our local school's PTO. Was a blast!! And the kicker: an event that was 'just a service for the kids (not a fund raiser) raised over 900 dollars. Real food beats a 'Happy Meal' every time! Did it again in 03, snowed that day--but still raised over 700 dollars for the kids!!
We've decided to keep K'Ehleyr home from school. Its better for her, and may show our striking teachers that they are not the only game in town. Only Bowlers should strike--NOT teachers. They should Teach Class--Not Greed!! Signed up for vitual school--online public school--better ciriculum and its FREE--already paid for by MY TAXES--so there unions! Our Brownie Troop marched in the Armed Forces Day Parade in Scranton, May 18, 2002. Actually it rained in the morning, so only Vicky, K'Ehleyr and I marched. If you make a promise--keep it! Rain stopped by parade time--had a blast!!
***NEW SOUP ALERT***Pierogie Soup--strange but true. (no pierogies were harmed in the making of this soup). Its a potato and cheese broth with penne ragata pasta--kicked up in my own special way--YUMM.
New to the Soups of America Collection: New York Pizza (e.b.a.)--a HUGE success.
I mix MY own special spice blend called: Chef Alexander's Essential Seasoning--better than Emeril's, and more spices than The Colonel. Great on everything, except ice cream!! E-mail me, maybe I can hook you up.
Troops photo was in our council's Feb.2002 Magazine for the tree donation we did at Christmas. The troop also donated a VCR to the Rec Center.
